Welcome to the Sogetsu San Francisco Bay Area Branch.
Founded in 1973, the Branch has 50 years of presenting and sharing the contemporary floral art of
Sogetsu Ikebana with the San Francisco Bay Area community.

The theme of the Demonstrations for ArtScapes 2025 was "Teacher and Student" arrangements.
Sahshah Kosen Middle and Pia Horei Groth gave a Demonstration creatively exploring the Fusion of Traditional and Modern viewpoints. Teacher Student Video

ArtScapes 2025 attracted record crowds. Please enjoy this video of Arrangements inspired by Artwork. The arrangers are the ArtScapes Committee members. They personally chose artwork they loved and then created whimsical inspired arrangements.

Recent Events and Videos

A "Taisaku" is a large scale, focal arrangement. It can be created
for an exhibition, event or installation in public or private spaces. Master Instructor Misei Ishikawa designed this stunning Bamboo Taisaku arrangement for our 50th Anniversary celebration.

This video chronicles all the stages of our journey, beginning
with the selection and cutting of the bamboo, then the meticulous
planning and sketching of the design by Ishikawa Sensei,
leading up to the final assembly of our structure at the site.
