We invited 5 Bay Area Sogetsu Branch Teachers to work with a group of their students collaboratively. It was fascinating and magical to see what each Sensei and her/his students created with only minimal guidelines. The arrangements were a stunning variety, all uniquely theirs and demonstrated their own personal teaching style.

Or you can click on each Teacher's image to view the 5 different, wildly imaginative collaborative arrangements.

Happiest of Holidays from the San Francisco Bay Area Branch to all our family, friends and fellow devotees of Sogetsu ikebana.

Our Founder, Sofu Teshigahara, said Sogetsu ikebana can be done with anything, anywhere by anyone.
In this spirit, the San Francisco Branch members created arrangements using plastic, metal, acrylic and so much more. Check out these creative arrangements.

Sensei Joan Yusui Suzuki has studied under all 4 Headmasters of  the Sogetsu School - Sofu, Kasumi, Hiroshi and Akane..

It is extremely rare that one teacher's career spans 3 Generations of Grandmother, Mother and Granddaughter as students. This video features 3 arrangements representing 3 different generations and how they each interpret Sogetsu ikebana using the same material of Horsetail.
